Teachers, event co-ordinators and activity organizers:
Do you need some "medieval color" added to an event or a history class? Our SCA members have knowledge of a great many types of medieval dress and combat that can bring the Middle Ages to life for your class or event! Contact our Chatelaine Lady Argolia at (rabbit11 at live dot com) for more information about what we can do for you!
The Shire of Hartwood is the Nanaimo and area chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
Hartwood began one summer in 1989 around a table in the Shady Rest Restaurant in Qualicum Beach. 20 years later, Hartwood is still going strong and is currently one of the groups involved with the creation of an upper Island barony.
While we plan for uniting with Ravensley (Port Alberni and area) and Cragmere (Courtenay, Comox and north), we are still quite busy with our own events and Island happenings. Check the left menu for more information.

This is the recognized Web Page for the Shire of Hartwood of the Society for Creative Anachronism Incorporated. It is not a corporate publication of the Society for Creative Anachronism Incorporated (SCA), and does not delineate SCA policies. In cases of conflict with printed versions of material presented on this page or its links, the conflict will be decided in favor of the printed version. This site is maintained by HL Scathach ingen Conmael (redshasta at gmail dot com). It is a privately run site to provide information about the group and its activities, both to local members of the SCA, as well as to anyone who may be interested in becoming a member of the Society.
